Aurora Borealis time lapse – from March 2013

This photo compilation is a highlight of a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I captured these images between March 10th-16th, 2013 north of Fairbanks, Alaska. I planned my Alaska adventure during the highest probability of solar storms…and to my extreme delight an Earth-directed Coronal Mass Ejection (solar storm) occurred Friday, March 15th, at 2:54 a.m. EDT…which made Aurora viewing rather epic.  Higher resolution photos from this time lapse video can be viewed on my webpage.

“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I’ve watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain”  – Roy Batty

…and so I made a video from a few things I’ve seen to help keep my memories alive …thanks youtube 😛
